Unique Position - Differentiation

The idea is to answer "How is my life a value to others?" Well think about your life story. Think about your life scenarios. Think of how it is different from others around you. Think of how privilege you are to be in that position. The perception of privileges is debatable but this article is not to argue your position but it is simply to offer an alternative views.

Your life is valuable no matter what the circumstances. It can create value for others whenever as long as you desire it and have the right mindset. Let me give you an example, remember Randy Pausch? If you don't know who this guy is, I suggest you go to youtube and find his Last Lesture video. This individual was suffering pancreatic cancer and had his life timed. He did not look at his ailment and took a self-pity stand but created value for so many people out there, including me, by how he sees the world differently. He died at July 25th, 2008 but his life stories bring hope to many.

My life story is not as dramatic as Randy Pausch but it is still good enough to bring value for others. Let me highlight several points of my life that I think of as privileges:
1. Juggling time between work, master degree, and ministry.
2. Having a long distance relationship.
3. Living in a house with 5 guys( soon going to be 6 guys).

Juggling responsibilities are no question tough. I found myself sacrificing my sleep, basketball, socialize, movie, and relax time. Sleeping at 2 or 3 am and wake up at 7 am is very normal now. While I got my school work done most of the time, I don't normally enjoy my bed time. It was painful at first and now it is slightly easier. People may say "No pain No gain" being in this position but I learn to think of it like Paul in 2 Cor 1. He said "Therefore, since through God's Mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart" On this verse, Paul didn't look at his ministry as self-deserving but referred back to God's mercy. Paul is a scholar, and Romans by birth. Comparatively, he is like a Phd student with high profile credentials and born with a high social status. He can embrace the sense of entitlement for the things he is able to do and claim all the honor to himself but He said "through God's mercy we have this ministry..." such a humble statement indeed but He did not stop there. He continued by saying "we do not lose heart", and in fact he said it twice. Paul knew that his ministry will not be fruitful without God's intervention and he, himself, saw how much this ministry have touched and changed people's life. This is where the awesomeness come. He saw his unique position and embrace it. More than that, He made it impactful for many.
